When my grandmother, Jane Schmidt, passed away in 2006, I created a DVD slideshow including nearly 200 photographs of her life of 81 years. At the viewing, I played it for all of the family and friends to honor and celebrate Jane’s life. We listened to the Sinatra tunes and remembered how special she was to each of us.
For the family, I made personal copies as keepsake items. My cousin, Stacey, later said, “I smiled through my crying at all the wonderful memories.” So many family members were touched by this slide show, I felt inspired to share this service with others.
And so, Remember When was born. Its successes are dedicated to the memory of Jane Elizabeth Schmidt.
